Depending on your scale, typical uses are fuel, nitrous, oil lines, small heater and coolant hoses and other small transfer lines.
The scale size is determined by its outside diameter (OD) compared to real world braided line since an inside diameter isn't useful in scale modeling. See the tables in the section called LINKS, INFO & TECH.
Equivalent sizes at each scale:
1/25 scale = 1/2" (AN -8)
1/16 scale = 1/4" (AN -4)

Pro Tech .25 diameter braided steel line
I just received my second order of this product after using it to run the fuel system from the tank in the rear of my '71 Plymouth Duster Super Stock car up into a pressure regulator, and then to the carb. I'm planning on using it again on the '78 Dodge Pro Street truck that I'm working on from the fuel cell in the truck's bed, so I ordered a second package to keep on hand for future builds. It looks a lot like the real thing ,and bends easily, this size is perfect for 1/25th scale builds. I definitely would recommend it.
